Another Great Update for Albums on Orkut ..
Well after Increasing the number photos in albums to 100 and then improving Album Options allowing us organize pics into multiple albums to make it easier for Us.
Now , You Can Upload More Than one Pic At a time. Previously You Could Add 1 photo at a time. Now you can upload upto 99 Pics at Once. Thus Saving you Time And Efforts.

Oh My God – Attack on Hyperlinks !
Well this is really a blockbuster. Orkut has disabled hyperlinking in Profile and Community Descriptions.
? For Profiles Links Are still Accessible .. through a check.
? For Communities Hyperlinking is Disabled.
Well It Seems Its Really True that orkut has become much much more serious than last year about User-Security which is the cause of so many security updates.

A better Search Engine
Well it seems that orkut is at it again.. thanks to the new search engine you can search in orkut much easily and better than before…
For example if you make a spelling mistake.. orkut will show you the correct alternative.
And A few Tips about searching from me :
? Search for 2 diff. things by using + . For eg- Your Choice1 + Your Choice2.
? Search exact sentence using quotes ie, “ “ . For eg- “Your Choice“.

If you’re using a new Nvidia or ATI graphic card, you will most likely have to install a proprietary driver for it which you can do under System > Administration > Restricted Drivers Manager. If you are not sure, please try to get Compiz Fusion working without a proprietary driver first, and if it doesn’t work, install the proprietary driver for your graphic card using the Restricted Drivers Manager.

1)Open the Synaptic Package Manager (System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager)

2)Use the Search function and search for compizconfig.

3)You should find the package compizconfig-settings-manager in the results. Click on it and select Mark for Installation.

4)Accept that package’s dependencies by clicking on Mark.

5)Afterwards, you should also select the packages emerald and gnome-compiz-manager for installation (you can use the Search fuction again to find them).

6) Accept that package’s dependencies by clicking on Mark

7)Next, click on the Apply button.

8)Confirm your selection by clicking on Apply again.

9)Afterwards, the packages are being downloaded and installed.

10)After all packages have been installed, you can close the Synaptic Package Manager.

• To make sure that Compiz Fusion is enabled, go to System > Preferences > Appearance.
• In the Appearance Preferences window, go to the Visual Effects tab and make sure that Custom is selected. That’s it already. To configure Compiz Fusion, you can click on the Preferences button.

You can do the same by going to System > Preferences > Advanced Desktop Effects Settings.

• In both cases the CompizConfig Settings Manager opens where you can define the behaviour of Compiz Fusion.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Here’s a list of the most common Compiz Fusion keyboard shortcuts:

1. SUPER+SHIFT+DRAG LEFT MOUSE = draw fire
2. SUPER+SHIFT+C = clear fire

TechCrunch speculates that there’s a 51% chance that Google might buy Bebo—or maybe MySpace will snap up the smaller social networking company. Last year, it was Yahoo that was supposed to be making a $1B offer on Bebo. This year’s guesses are similar—$1B to $1.5B.

TechCrunch explains that the move would almost double Google’s social networking audience, with Orkut’s millions of members worldwide plus Bebo’s non-US English-speaking market. Erick Schonfeld also notes that MySpace could assure its worldwide dominance by buying the #1 social network in several English-speaking countries.

Bebo has an exclusive partnership with Yahoo for display and video advertising. They initially signed on to Google’s OpenSocial, but soon also accepted Facebook’s platform as well.
